  Ahh but Simon, that "right to bare arms" rule exists here as well you know. Its just that we need to go to the right dodgy venue to obtain guns'n'shit.

  Go to the right place in the city where I live (Birmingham) and you can get pretty much anything you want for the right price.

  Its a global problem.

  If there were a way to take down a man easily who is armed, without being armed yourself then I'd like to know how. I can understand frightened people buying a nice little side arm.

  Taking guns away from Joe Public seems like a great idea on one hand - you remove more guns from society, but on the other - you make the innocent more vulnerable to attack or intimidation. I'm sure its very empowering to have a gun when threatened in your own home.

  Its a complex issue that forum sound bites cannot solve.

  ever notice how as a witness, you could not say "god" by itself.

  always had to be preceeded by jehovah, or just say jehovah.

  i remember my ex telling me that was the first sign that they knew i was on the way out, because i would refer to god simply as, "god".

  Man can live again.

  i believe that it is possible for us to live again after we die.this has nothing to do with relgion it just seams to make sense to me , although it doesn't mean that we will, only that it is possible.. this is based on the following reasoning .if our conciousness us just a function of our brain,and our brain is just a pattern of atoms, then all that needs to happen is a recreation of this pattern.. computers are getting more powerful, maybe sometime in the future we could map an entire brain and recreate it in a test tube.maybe the dna of dead people could be used to recreate them.

  since the specific birth of yourself happened and your particular brain was "created" there is no reason it can not happen again with the right conditions, even naturaly.. if the brain is more than just what we think it is, and has an existance like a soul or is an effect like gravity caused by the physical makeup of the brian interacting with something else , then it should still be possible to live again if the brain is recreated.. whether this will ever happen i dont know.

  Its like a conversation that I use to have endlessly while smoking cannabis. It is intriguing at the time, nobody can prove anything either way and it becomes utterly pointless pursuing it

  Kind of like Bible miracles as well - no scientific grounding to them - they don't occur now. Nobody can provide hard evidence that they ever occured and so on and so forth .... all pointless waffle !

  Maybe we should concentrate on what is real for a change. People suffering, bad relationships, racism, etc and concentrate our mental energies there ... just a thought.

  Security risks seem to occur too often this year. Its a good job I have my PC pretty much clamped down software wise + have the latest service pack. But, I still feel vulnerable !

  Tsk - the internet. Great idea, but full of holes.

  i am pained by the lack of faith by people on the board recently both in god and in general.. it is obvious that unbelievers in god would have such lack of faith.

  but it is not confined to them alone but to others that though believers in god have little trust and confidence in him.. these of little faith constantly cry for proof and evidence both of god existence or in the case of bill bowens letter to the wts proof of govering body members guilt as child molesters.

  they haven't the ability to believe or have faith without physical evidence.. one of my main mentors is tv minister fred price which i watch every sunday morning.

  Whats important in our religion?

  i have read a lot her about this issu, and it is always end upp in year we have said that something perhaps will happend, and thats not so good ofcourse, even if the gissipels ask jesus will your kingdom come in this itime, so some was waiting fore this, was they wrong now, nothing say that, but i agree it is not good fore the reputaition of the name of jehova.. something you never tell is that what i think is the most important in the religion is not this waiting fore the end.. it is the bigg unike thing fore jw, where are we when we are dead, answer sleeping, waiting fore the .

  resurruection.

  as we now the other religion say , hell or heaven, bigg diffrence.. number two, jehova is only one ,jesus is hes son, who shall give us blessing in the kingdom on earth, als0 very unik.. number three is that we belife name of the lord is <jehova, very unik, and important.. we have some more things, but this things who you can say are seperating us from the rest of diffrent religions, and this have never been change.

  All very nice, and if you see things that way and it works for you, then I'm pleased.

  For me though - I no longer care about these "spiritual" issues. I have more important earthly matters to attend to - like keeping my mind together and supporting those around me.

  If all you say is true, then I'm happy to leave things in higher hands and keep my insignificant nose out of higher affairs.

  We are not that important anyway = only in our own eyes and estimation of our own reality.

  Happliy I wash my hands of all responsibility towards the whole worship thing. Quietly walking away.
